Remember back in middle school when summer meant skateboarding all day and maybe an hour total of work (if you had a paper route like me). Well these days summer usually doesn’t mean less work, hopefully an extra couple days off, or some summer hours. In San Diego at one of the places I worked, we had summer hours year round, meaning you where never there at 5:00 on a Friday, you were probably already in the ocean a good hour or two before. I would be hammering some code and the marketing manager would come out of her office and say go home, and we all said okay. My current job usually offers addition summer holidays which is a very nice added benefit.

In fact, right now I am busier at work than I was this winter, and have to do some work yet tonight - which is fine because I like what I do. Since we had the first rainy day and night of the summer today, it’s easier to get that work done.
